The British's Farewell
British commander, Colonel Francis Smith, realized that the Americans were growing and it was to much for them to handle, so the British decided to retreat. They marched a long way back to the city of Boston with no victory, while the Americans gained confidence and wisdom. The Americans still continue to taunt and attack the British even though they retreated.
- The time the British reached Boston they had lost 73 men and 174 men were wounded.
- The Americans lost 49 men and 41 were wounded.
