The Battle of Lexington was a very small war. Some people barely called it a battle, but its important because that's where the Revolutionary war took place. The British, led by captain John Parker arriving in Lexington noticed that there were only 80 American militiamen in the town. They were up against a much lager British force but they wasn't expecting to fight until an unknown gunshot was fired forcing the British to attack.
Some were killed and some bolted from the scene. It was the first shot of the American Revolution and also started the war on April 19, 1775.
